Kitchen Colors
Recently a
friend of mine bought a house and asked for my advice on
what she should do with her kitchen since it didn't look
how she would like. I was excited that she had asked for
my advice since this was something that I had already
gone through once before with my own kitchen and one
thing that I really enjoyed doing. I got right to the
point with her and told her that the first thing she
would want to do is to select suitable "kitchen colors",
as I called them.
Kitchen interior paint colors are merely
colors that look best in a kitchen and that will also wear
well with time and a lot of use.
They can be anything really and essentially
the whole color scheme is your canvas, but different people
have different thoughts on what are suitable colors for a
kitchen.
Some people
I know would avow by having cream and beige shades in
their kitchen.
Others would
favor the earthier kitchen colors like browns and even
greens. Yet others would rather have their kitchens a
spotless and pristine white with perhaps black or chrome
highlights. And others still would prefer to have bright
vivid colors gracing the walls of their
kitchens.
As you can see the kitchen colors of an
assortment of people will differ wildly given the person,
the circumstances and the era that you live
in.
For instance would you even consider having
sixties wallpaper in your kitchen today? And that's why I
told my friend to first pick what kitchen colors she would
rather have for her kitchen.
I am
aware that the most enjoyable part for me in redoing my
own kitchen wasn't selecting the brand new accessories I
would need, but picking the suitable kitchen colors that
would lend it the much needed style it lacked at that
moment.
I have to
say that I had fun picturing my kitchen bathed in a range
of colors from bright yellow to vivid red to ocean
blue.
Unsurprisingly, none of the more radical
ideas took up more than a moment or two of my time as
what I really desired was somewhere that I could cook in
relative peace and enjoyment.
And that's
truly what selecting your kitchen colors comes down to.
It should be a colour you like, but it should also be a
colour you're willing to live with for the next one or
two years, unless of course you're equipped to pick some
new kitchen colors and repaint your
kitchen.
Equipped
with all of the time in the world along with resources
you can indulge yourself in variety and change your
kitchen colors at whim.
Let it be a
seasonal project and switch out your kitchen colors to an
airy yellow in the spring, a sky blue in the summer,
earth tones in the autumn and bright red and green in the
winter!
What ever
your style or what ever your desires it comes down to it
being your kitchen and your choices. The kitchen colors
you choose now may not be the kitchen colors you choose
next week. The choices are
endless.
