Modern Interior Design
There's much to be said for modern
interior designs and the majority of people have already said
it! The imagery for these designs can range from, utilitarian
to airy to clinically pristine. Not everyone thinks this way
naturally, that's just the school of thought which touts that
black on black, or chrome and white colour schemes are the
devil's response to all things interior
design.
I have to agree on one aspect, that the
white and chrome colour scheme does leave a lot to be
desired; however, there are other, different modern interior
designs which can be alluring to quite a few people. For
instance some of the modern interior designs have achieved
an exceptional balance between the old and the new, and try
to include the best of both worlds.
Sometimes they may fall flat on their faces
in their labors to achieve this look, but more often than
not they succeed and the outcome is very elegant and
glamorous to be sure. Just the other day I witnessed the
perfect example of what I am referring to.
Instead of over using chrome as if it were
about to go out of fashion, this interior designer had
simply incorporated it in a few key places, thus making sure
that the person entering the room didn't get an eyeful of
chrome when they walk in.
Along with this, wooden butcher's blocks
and granite counters had been used to compliment wooden
flooring and modern appliances.
The entire look of this kitchen came
together beautifully and delighted the eye, and this was,
despite the deep eye-catching green colour that one wall
was accented in.
It's these types of modern
interior designs that can give hope to the future of interior
design, and leaves you believing that the old school style of
interior designs won't be left entirely in the dust when the
time comes for it to die a natural
death.
However this demise of the old and
tried does not have to be a heartbreaking occasion. This is
because the fresh interior designer of the future will someday
look through the pages of interior design history and possibly
bring a few of the trends from our times into the
future.
Everything has its time and
everything must lay the foundation to the new and untried while
the old style fades into the background and becomes what is
considered a classic look.
Just consider it for a moment;
would you have the classic Regency style interior decor in your
homes today? So modern interior designs will take the front
seat sooner or later and we can only sit back and hope that we
have changed adequately to admire these
designs.
Styles come and styles go and good
styles will either stay or come back.
The fads are what are
here and gone before we have time to fully implement it
and fortunate for us the fads don’t come
back.
Just as the times change the
styles change with them; however, we are visited by these
designs through the years and the old becomes the new modern
interior design.
We can often see the bold patterns and colourhs revisited in
modern interior design when it was actually born in the
seventy’s interior design. With the ebb and flow of modern
interior design we are able to express in new ways as well as
old ways made new.
